It was my first time to see up close Chinese opera replete with costumes, make up and sets after our visit to the A-Ma Temple, one of the oldest in Macau. The whole theater: stage, backroom and audience’s section were all temporary and is made entirely of bamboo and wooden planks covered with tarp. While roaming at the backstage, I saw this performer preparing for his part.
